Martha L. Houtz

Martha L. “Marty” Houtz, 85 of Huntington passed away at 7:41 am on July 14, 2019 at her daughter’s residence. Marty worked with the mentally disabled throughout Indiana. She enjoyed making hats, singing, and sewing, she made a lot of her own clothing, playing cards, games and she was very crafty, including plastic canvas. Marty was born on September 21, 1933 in Wells County, the daughter of Guy and Inez (Drukemiller) Wentz. She was united in marriage to Dean Houtz on March 31, 1979 in Wells County. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2001. Survivors include two daughters: Sherry (Carl) Keuneke of South Whitley; Vicki (Roger) Stephens of Huntington; a son: Robert Pursifull of Sebring, FL; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son: Bill Pursifull, Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 following visitation at 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Jim Nutt officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne at a later date.
