In loving memory of a most unique Mom.  I will love you and miss you always.

I have so many memories of Marty however my favorite is: Marty was visiting Arleen and Gary in Bethesda, Maryland one year mid-90's in November. They were invited to join our family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. Prior to dinner we were having cocktails, etc., my husband asked Marty what she wanted to drink and Marty quickly said, "I'll have a Bloody Mary,"  She then proceeded to get her handbag and looked inside and said, "Just a minute Harvey, I'll give you the recipe." And out she brought the recipe.  What fun that evening was.

I have so many happy memories of times spent with the Crist family on the Bippus farm. Marty had a grand and happy personality which will be missed by many.

Arlene, Jane, Mary & Ron and family members: My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your mom was a "one of a kind"! It's been around 30 years since I last saw your mom at my own mom's funeral, but I'll never forget her quick wit (often with a touch of sarcasm). I can still hear her voice in my head as she would get on Arlene's case about something. I remember too hearing about Uncle Clem and another relative who was an outstanding musician (studied at Julliard I think). Anyway, wish I could be with you (as your brother) to give you all a big hug and reminisce even more!   Love and Blessings!

Oh, JaneE - we are going to miss our "Morty," and her feisty spirit!  She was a live-wire!  I always enjoyed my visits with her when I came to Huntington. Arlene and Gary and family, although I never had the privilege of meeting your mother and knowing her, I felt like I knew her because you shared so much about your visits with her.  You look so much like her, Arlene, and her picture is beautiful and I could tell that she just shines from within and has that note of keen wit.  How wonderful that you were able to spend so much time with her - wonderful memories to cherish and you made her later days very special.

Dear Arlene and family, know that I am praying for you and your family during this time.  From everything I was told about your mother, it's no wonder where you get your wit and sense of humor.  The devotion you had for her is heartfelt and admired.  Hold on to your precious memories.  She lived a long life surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren...blessed beyond words!  I will always remember you telling me that she referred to me as "Pretty Peggy".  

The greatest of these is love...she was loved!

Mom (Marty) Crist was a special Mom and person full of wit, humor and spirit.  Her Polish ethnic background brought additional uniqueness and character as well.  Love her so much and will always remember her love of music, art, animals and cooking which enriched and influenced me greatly.

Dear Jane and family, Marty was a sparkler! She made me laugh out loud whenever I would visit her with Jane. Her sharp wit was something! Himes Street will never be quite the same. As I am back at home in Dallas, I cannot be there to pay my respects nor to give you hugs and support. My thoughts and prayers are with you - so very hard to lose our Mama.
