Neil A. Ward

Neil A. Ward, 83 of Roanoke passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Kingston Care in Fort Wayne. Neil was a 1956 graduate of Huntington High School. He worked at Stratoflex/Parker-Hannifin in Fort Wayne for 47 years, retiring in 2003. He later worked at Walmart in Huntington for 12 years. Neil loved IU basketball and Huntington North High School basketball and enjoyed watching old western movies. Neil was born on November 6, 1937 in Huntington, the son of the late Russell and Martha (Resler) Ward. He was united in marriage to Nancy (Lancaster) Shenefield on June 5, 1971. Nancy preceded him in death on December 19, 2013. Survivors include a son: Chris (Laura Faust) Shenefield of Lompoc, CA; four daughters: Leslie Ward of Roanoke, Melanie Dager of Fort Wayne, Loretta Barton of Huntington, Bridget Shenefield of Wabash; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by a half-sister: Phyllis Ayres. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana with funeral service to follow visitation at 6:00 pm. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date.
