Paul D. Adkins

Paul D. Adkins, 57 of Huntington passed away at 5:11am on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his residence. Paul was a 1979 graduate of Huntington North High School and was a graduate of Huntington University. He worked for Parkview Huntington Hospital, Herald Press and for the last 15 years as an insurance agent. Paul was a member of Life Church where he served in adult ministries. Through the years he also served as a youth leader, small group leader and church camp director for many years, former member of Kiwanis and was a former board member of Huntington County Baseball. He loved coaching and was a coach for many years for travel baseball teams. Paul loved to play baseball and softball. He loved his God and his family and coaching his children’s sports. Paul was born on April 22, 1961 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Samie and Ivy (Allen) Adkins. He was united in marriage to Tracy Guhl on September 24, 1983 in Huntington. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two daughters: Beth (Curan) Burnau of Huntington; Krista (Adam) Rohrabaugh of Roanoke; a son: Connor (Zoie Brooks) Adkins of Huntington; three brothers: Bobby (Susie) Adkins of Huntington; Frank (Judy) Adkins of Florida; Mike Adkins of Huntington; three sisters: Delores (Leo) Fannin of Florida; Patty (David) McCormick of Florida; Fredia Teusch of New Haven; six grandchildren: Carson Stoffel, Chandler Stoffel, Micah Rohrabaugh, Marlie Rohrabaugh Scarlet Burnau and Briggs Burnau. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Samie “Junior” Adkins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 1, 2019 with one hour of visitation prior to the services with Pastor Mike Hill officiating at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made out to Life Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
