

Philip L. Ogden, 69 of Huntington passed away at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his residence. Phil had worked as a locomotive Engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 35 years, retiring in August of 2003. Phil was a 1961 graduate of Frankfort High School in Frankfort, IN. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He attended the Faith Community Church of God. Phil loved fishing with his grandsons and visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Norwood Golf Course. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 7 and the Moose Lodge 837 in Huntington.
Phil was born on August 19, 1943 in Frankfort, IN a son of Bert L. and Ruth Elizabeth (Rice) Ogden. He was united in marriage to Joyce A. Rogers on September 28, 1963 in Frankfort. His wife survives.
Additional Survivors include two sons: Anthony (Chris) Ogden of Indianapolis and Andrew (Erin) Ogden of Littleton, CO; four grandsons: Lucas and Jacob Ogden of Indianapolis and Emerson and Sullivan Ogden of Littleton, CO.; a brother: Richard (Pat) Ogden of Kendallville; two sisters: Deborah (Mike) Baker of Lafayette and Cathy (Mike) Johnson of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Steven Stull officiating.
Interment will take place at the Kilmore Cemetery in Frankfort, IN, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 with Pastor Paul Whitaker officiating.
