Phillip A. Jackson, 89 of Huntington passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his residence. Phillip was a 1948 graduate of Huntington High School. He served in the United States Army from 1951 – 1953 in Alaska with the Post Engineer Group during the Korean War. He worked for 36 years as a materials planner for ITT Aerospace in Fort Wayne, retiring in 1992. Phillip enjoyed woodworking, making shelves and cabinets and also enjoyed doing yard work.
Phillip was born on April 15, 1930, the son of Norman G. and Martha F. (Huffman) Jackson.
He was united in marriage to Ruth E. Ervin on November 25, 1950 in Markle, Indiana. Ruth preceded him in death on June 18, 2007.
Survivors include two sons: Steven A. Jackson of Huntington; Gregory B. Jackson of Columbia City; a daughter: Debra E. Wallace of Fort Wayne; two sisters: Marilyn J. Clark and Sandra K. Bonner both of Huntington; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Robert D. Jackson and Richard E. Jackson.
Private family visitation and funeral service.
Private family graveside service at Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County.
Memorial donations can be made out to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
