Robert L. Hollenberg, 86 of North Manchester passed away at 8:55 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Timbercrest Retirement Community in North Manchester. Robert was a graduate of Manchester College. He was a member of Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren in Fort Wayne and was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood, Florida and was currently a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren. Robert was a member of the Highland Masonic Lodge #762, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, and the Mizpah Shrine Chanters. He was a longtime advisor to Fort Wayne DeMolay where he earned the Honorary Legion of Honor and was past president of the National Association of Accountants Fort Wayne Chapter. He loved singing and was a member of several choirs and did solo work. His favorite song to sing was “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. He loved to go fishing, was an excellent pie baker and he really enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert was born on November 7, 1931 in Arrowwood, Alberta Canada, the son of Quinter and Florence (Wallace) Hollenberg. He was united in marriage to Helen Bollinger on February 5, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2013. Survivors include three children: a son Gene (Pam) Hollenberg of Nappanee; a daughter Cindy (Jan Eshleman) Hollenberg of New Mexico; and a son Bill (Amy) Hollenberg of Ft. Wayne; six grandchildren: Becky Hollenberg, Laura Snider, Sarah (Angel) Vergara, Keighdee (Eric) Spatt, Aaron (Grace) Hollenberg, Emily (Adam Mossoian) Hollenberg, a great granddaughter: Wendy Spatt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Wallace E. Hollenberg. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm at Timbercrest Retirement Community, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm following visitation at the Timbercrest Retirement Community. Memorial donations can be made out to Manchester University, Englewood United Methodist Church, Manchester Church of the Brethren or to Shriner’s Hospital all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
