Ronald Paul Farris, 75 of Huntington, passed away on Thursday December 14, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He had served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Ron worked at Wabash Magnetics, BF Goodrich, Hayes Lemmerz and United Technologies. He coached baseball at the PAL Club, BMX Club and bowling. He was a member of the American Legion in Huntington. He loved being with his family and Ron was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.
Ronald was born on February 26, 1948 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Branson and Gertrude (Railing) Farris.
He was united in marriage to Cynthia Trout (his high school sweetheart) on May 30, 1970 in Huntington. Cynthia survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Derek Farris of Huntington, Jason (Jen) Farris of Huntington; a daughter: Nikki Farris of Huntington; a sister: Jody (Jeff) Falk of Huntington; three grandchildren: Cameron Farris, Jamison Heyde, Connor Heyde; several nieces and nephews; three lifelong friends: Ronn (Joanna) Baker of Fort Wayne, Leroy (Teresa) Haneline of Pleasant Lake and Ron (Carole) Ray of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
