Thurman T. Glassburn, 100 of North Manchester and formerly of Huntington and Wabash passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Peabody Retirement Center in North Manchester. Thurman served his country during WWII. He was a postal carrier for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and doing yard work. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Thurman was born on September 14, 1920 in Miami County, the son of the late Gilbert and Ina (Roubenalt) Glassburn.
He was united in marriage to Viola Davenriner in 1946. Viola passed away on August 17, 1982. He later married Dorothy Barlow on January 2, 1983. Dorothy survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter: Sharon (Dewayne) Anderson of Huntington; a stepson: Phillip (Judy) Barnett of Chicago; four grandchildren: Michelle (Chad) Hacker of Huntington, Michael (Media) Anderson of Fort Wayne, Rachel (Aaron) Kiefer of Huntington, Matthew (Lindsey) Anderson of Utah; a step granddaughter: Michele (Kurt) Landis; five great grandchildren: Olivia Bickel, Madline Bickel, Cicilia Anderson, Emmanuel Anderson and Landin Kiefer.
He was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Visitation will be held on Monday March 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s guidelines for Mask’s, Social Distancing and Social Gathering Limits.
Funeral service will be held on Monday March 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington chapel, immediately following the visitation.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
