William L. Kline

William L. “Bill” Kline, 84 of Huntington passed away at 4:16 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 at The Heritage of Huntington. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Union Center High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a lifelong farmer and had worked at Markle Health Care as a cook for three years and dietary manager for six years. He was a member of Union Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent, and elder and was on the church board. Bill lived by the church motto: Loving God and Loving People. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing the yard, bowling, golfing, softball, playing corn hole at The Heritage, John Deere tractors, the Yankees and hunting morel mushrooms. Bill was born on May 5, 1934 in Huntington County, the son of Virgil and Miriam Bernice (Robrock) Kline. He was united in marriage to Doris A. Harris on April 15, 1956 at Union Church. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two sons: Tim (Nancy Jo) Kline of Marion; Steve (Ann) Kline of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Debbie Thompson of Huntington; two brothers: Don (Mary Alice) Kline of Huntington; Harold (Marcia) Kline of Huntington; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Dan Thompson. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:30 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Mark Hoffer officiating. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to Union Church Building Fund in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
