Carlos R. Ballard Jr.

Carlos Raymond Ballard, Jr., 88 of Huntington, WV, died at his residence, November 24,2014. He was born March 22, 1926 in St. Albans, WV, to the late Mr. And Mrs. Carlos R. Ballard Sr. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Merle Ballard, a grandson Adam P. Ballard. Survivors include a son, David A. Ballard and his wife, Paula; a grandson, Eric B. Ballard and his wife, Christy. He was co-owner of Ballard's Farm Sausage, Inc. and was responsible for the advertising program that included the 20 state regionally famous "Ballard Jingle." He was a 1950 Marshall graduate and strong supporter of the university. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. He loved to travel and took numerous cruises and trips around the world. A special thanks to his loving caregiver, Kathy Martin. Visitation will be at noon until service time, Saturday, November 29, 2014 with funeral to follow at 2 PM at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary.
