

CLYDE L. WOOTEN of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Holden, W.Va., son of the late Fred and Polly Wooten. Also, preceding him in death was his first wife, Donna Gordon; and daughter, Kay LaRue; sisters, Virginia Hutchinson, Mildred Parsley, Irene Hammersly and Mae Adkins; and brothers, James Wooten and Larry Wooten. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters, Kim (Mark) Rose and Stacie (Joe) Nahstoll, both of Louisville, Ky.; son, Dr. Adam (Mandy) Wooten, of Lexington, Ky.; sister, Mary Lou (Leonard) Hovis; brothers, Howard (Lois) Wooten and Bob (Sharon) Wooten; and sister-in-law, Betty Wooten, all of Logan; Tom (Donna) Wooten of Lexington, Ky. He is also survived by grandchildren, Hunter Rose, Logan Rose, Madison Nahstoll and Connor Nahstoll, all of Louisville. Clyde was a 1951 graduate of Logan High School and a graduate of Marshall College. He retired in 1998 after 37 successful years with Nationwide Insurance Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and was a faithful member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Steele Memorial United Methodist Church, 733 Shaw Street, Barboursville, WV, by Rev. Dr. John Sauvage and Rev. Ralph Sager. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steele Memorial Building Fund, P.O. Box 346, Barboursville, WV 25504. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.
