Barbara graduated from Yarmouth High School in 1947. She worked at the New England Telephone & Telegraph for 33 years. She was a past President of the Cape Cod Council of Telephone Pioneers of America, and a past President for the Mid Cape Life Members Club of Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis and the New Beginnings Singles Group. She was also a member of the Highland Scottish Society.
She was family oriented and was a world traveler. She showed her creativity through knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, cross-stitch, cake making and ceramics.
In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Clarence E. Davis, and her sister, Carol Fay Sherwood. She is survived by her four children: son, Robert M. Davis of West Barnstable; son, Brian E. Davis and wife Cheryl of Centerville; daughter, Caroleigh D. Forbush and husband Bruce of Marstons Mills; son, Stephen R. Davis of West Barnstable; and 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd M. Sherwood of Southington, Connecticut.
Visitation will be held at Doane Beal and Ames, 160 West Main St., Hyannis on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 4-8 pm. Private funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2021. Burial will follow at Crocker Park Cemetery, Church Street, West Barnstable.
