

children of Charles Jessie Cutler, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Liza) Jones
Cutler (both deceased) in Nash County, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Charles and his siblings were all educated in the Public Schools of
North Carolina. At a very early age, Charlie left the farm to pursue a
better life. He worked in many states and held numerous positions
until he found his true calling as a machinist of which he worked
until retirement on Cape Cod. Charlie travelled the world and was
well versed in American history. Charlie gave his life to God in
early childhood and continued to serve the Lord where ever he lived
teaching Bible study, Sunday school and serving on the usher board.
When Charlie lived in Waltham, he attended Myrtle Baptist Church in
West Newton. In Hyannis, Charlie attended Zion Union Church and was a
trustee at New Hope Baptist Church. He was a life time member of the
NAACP, a member of the Cape Cod Doers and worked and attended the
Senior Citizen’s Center.
Charlie’s memories and legacy will be forever cherished by his loving
family. He leaves from his first union a devoted only child, Dorothy
Laverne Minor, grandsons Angelo Turfono Minor and Lorenzo Minor, II
(deceased) and a great grandson Lorenzo Minor, III all of Richmond,
Virginia. He leaves his youngest and remaining sibling Bernice of
Boston. From his last marriage with Rev. Emma Oliver Cuter
(deceased), he obtained a wealth of love with her children and family
which he immediately claimed as his very own. Children: Mozella Betts
of Ft. Pierce, FL, Edward Oliver, Jr. (deceased), Allen Oliver of
Hyannis, Roberta Oliver James (William) of Randolph. Grandchildren,
Emma Carroll, Eugene Martin, Edward Oliver, III, Courtney Oliver
Shawna Samuels, and Jasmine James. Great-grand children Marley Joseph
and Neva Oliver. Of course he loved his host of nieces, nephews and
other family members. Charlie leaves to cherish many close friends
from New Hope, Zion Union and the staff of the Pavilion Rehabilitation
and Nursing Center in Hyannis who all took excellent care of him.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the
Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street in Hyannis.
Burial will follow in Oak Neck Cemetery, Oak Neck Road in Hyannis.
