Dana W. Pierce

He was married to the late Carolyn (Cook) Pierce for more than 50 years. He is survived by his daughters Pepi Colarullo and her husband George Colarullo III of Ayer, MA and Kristen Laube and her husband Marcus Laube of Hyannis, MA. He was the brother of Judy Botsford of Hyannis, MA and Brian Pierce of Mashpee, MA. He leaves behind five grandchildren; George Colarullo IV of Keene, NH and Courtney Colarullo of Ayer, MA and Pierce, Reese, and Greta Laube of Hyannis, MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dana was a lifelong resident of Hyannis, MA and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1959. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, having actively served from 1960-1964.

He was an Electrician by trade having owned Pierce Electrics, Inc and a longtime employee of local companies Brewer Electric Company and Reilly Electrical (RELCO). Dana also worked for many years alongside his late wife at the Cape Cod Melody Tent and his late father-in-law, Josiah H Cook, at the Hyannis Drive-In and Cape Cod Cinemas.

Dana loved sitting at the beach with his coffee and donut to start each morning. In his later years, he loved playing cribbage with his family, loved watching western and animated movies, and was an avid bird watcher. Dana’s greatest joy in life was following and supporting his children and grandchildren as they followed their dreams.

A private burial service will be held for family. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home in Hyannis on May 20, 2023, from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The American Cancer Society in his honor.
