Debra L. Fitzgerald

Debra Louise Fitzgerald (nee Radford), of Centerville, MA, formerly of Denver, CO and Roslindale, MA, age 65, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Theresa M. (Jenness) Radford and the late William Francis Radford. Debra had fulfilled a lifelong dream and moved to Cape Cod in the spring of 2020.

With a passion for wildlife and animals, Debra owned and operated Latch Key Pets, a dog walking and pet sitting business, both on the Cape and in Denver, Colorado. Debra was also an accomplished painter. She enjoyed bird watching, photography, and hiking in the area.

In addition to her mother, Debra is survived by her sister Ellen Amblo (John) of Merrimack, NH, sister Donna Hay (Scott) of Rumney, NH, her best friend Michael A. Fitzgerald of Roslindale, MA, her sister-in-law Patricia F. Merriell of Centerville, MA with whom Debra made her home, sister- in law Kathleen Fitzgerald of Boston, MA, sister-in-law Theresa Fitzgerald and husband Charles McCarthy of Roslindale, MA, and by many loving nieces and nephews and their families. Debra was pre-deceased by her father and by her sister Kathleen Scarale and brother-in-law Ronald Scarale.

As she requested, Debra will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered on her beloved Cape Cod in a private ceremony. There will be no viewing or service. A celebration of Debra’s life will be held at a future date. We would like to the thank the Mugar 4 team of nurses and staff at Cape Cod Hospital for their loving care of Debra over the last two weeks, especially Kerri, Thom, Holly, and Amy.
