

He was born on September 29, 1931 in West De Pere, WI, son of the late Arthur and Marcella (Vandenbrand) Margraf. Don graduated from Nicolet High
School in West De Pere in 1949 where he was the quarterback for his football team, and was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. In 1951 Don joined
the U.S. Coast Guard and served during the Korean war. This qualified him for admission to Northeastern University under the GI bill. He earned two degrees
in engineering, an associates in mechanical engineering and a bachelor of business administration in engineering and management. After receiving his
education he worked as an outside industrial sales engineer, assigned to the southeastern MA area. He retired from Langley Equipment Company which
was based in Medford, MA in 1993.
Don was a longtime member of the Canal Sportsman Club, and his most enjoyable hobby was fishing on the Cape Cod Canal. When he moved permanently to the Cape, he resided in Sagamore, Sagamore Beach, and most recently in Hyannis. He was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Church for the past fifteen years, where he attended daily Mass until he was moved to the nursing facility due to failing health.
Don is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son Paul and wife Maureen of Ashby and Mashpee ; his son Alan of Sagamore; his grandson Michael and his partner Tiffani Warila of Gardner and great granddaughter Madison. He was pre-deceased by his son Steven in 1976; and he is also survived by his stepsons Michael and Mark Tironati of Brockton. Don's family would like to thank the staff at Wingate for the tender care he received during his stay there.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home 160 W. Main St., Hyannis followed by an 11am Mass of Christian burial at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis. Burial with military honors will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church Restoration Fund.
