Doris Marguerite (Alberghini) Quealey, of Centerville, passed on to eternal life at the McCarthy Care Center on the morning of April 2, 2017, following a brief illness. She was the eldest of four children born to the late Joseph C. and Alma E. Alberghini. Doris was born in Hyannis on February 14, 1927, and recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Following her graduation from Barnstable High School in 1944, Doris went on to graduate from Boston University’s School of Business. Doris worked for the Frank L. Horgan Insurance Company during high school, college, and for a short time thereafter until her marriage to the late John E. Quealey.
Doris was always a hard worker, whether in school, on the job, or in the home. She consistently saw the best in others, and had a positive attitude toward life. She was a great listener, attentive to one’s every word. Doris enjoyed spending time with her children and family, and particularly enjoyed family trips. She will be deeply missed.
Doris is survived by her son, Paul M. Quealey, of New York, and her daughter, Eleanor Quealey, of Cape Cod. She is also survived by her brother, John Alberghini (Joan), her sister, Jane Morse, and her four nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Eagle Pond for the loving care given over the past year, as well as thank those at Lighthouse Home Health Care. We are grateful for the attentive and compassionate care Doris received at both Cape Cod Hospital and the McCarthy Care Center during her final journey.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, April 9th, at Doane, Beal and Ames on West Main Street in Hyannis. At 10 AM on April 10th, a Mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Centerville. Interment at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made at http://www.alzheimerscapecod.org or to MSPCA Animal Shelter, 1577 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632.
