Valentine's Day - 2024
It is so appropriate to write about you on this day of love, Dorothy-Ellen Gross. You were a gentle person of brightness and lightness. As I told people of your passing, they told me how you were always kind, thoughtful, and loving. They recall your blue eyes and how they would shine like a Cape Cod sky after a storm. Your mom, Elizabeth, and your dad, William, were so proud of your professional accomplishments. You rose from Library Director to University Provost at North Park University in Chicago. Your employees write of your ability to recognize talent, to nurture those skills, and to extend friendship unconditionally. Your employees value your integrity, leadership, and loyalty. You are remembered too for your laughter. It was a sound that made others smile as you smiled. You battled physical illness for years without complaint and proved yourself to be strong and resilient. We have all benefited just by knowing you and you stay with us in our memories. Those memories continue to make us smile.
We love you as you loved us.
Your Secret Weapon Sister and many, many friends...
