Fay Caroline (Harrison) Drummond, 92, passed away peacefully at Mayflower Place on May 13, 2020. Born in Providence, RI to the late Raymond and Elmo (Berry) Harrison on June 16, 1927.
She graduated from Roger Williams Hospital as a registered nurse. When she began her career as a nurse she started out as a maternity night nurse. She has a certificate of gerontology from the University of Bridgeport and received her Health Care Administration degree from St. Joseph’s College in Maine. She became interested in gerontology after volunteering for the Commission on Aging in Connecticut where she lived for 29 years. She was Director of Nursing at Courtland Gardens in Stamford, Connecticut. She moved to Yarmouthport in 1989 and became Director of Nursing at Mayflower Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 1991 and retired in the late 90’s.
She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge, and travelling all over the world.
She is survived by her two daughters: Pamela Gillespie, of Plymouth, MA and Laurie Drummond, of Dorchester, MA, her grandson Timothy Iliff, of Melbourne, FL and two great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Iliff and her son Byron Drummond.
