Born on October 19, 1926 in Hollis, New York, he was the son of the late William and Susan Murphy.
Frank proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and later went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University, specializing in Journalism.
On November 17, 1956, he married the love of his life, Margaret A. (Donohoe) Murphy. They remained devoted to each other for 53 years until her death in 2009.
Frank had a distinguished career in the cement industry for more than 40 years, working for major corporations such as U.S. Steel, Heidelberg Cement and Lafarge.
Frank enjoyed being outside working in his garden and yard. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Frank had a special way of focusing on the interests of each of his grandchildren, which strengthened the bond that they shared. More than anything, he cherished the time that they spent together.
He is survived by his three sons, Francis D. Murphy and his wife, Kari, of Charlestown, MA; Mark J. Murphy and his wife, Tracy, of Needham, MA; David B. Murphy and his wife, Lori, of Norton, MA; his daughter Mary M.
