Janet Ann Huntley

Janet Ann Huntley, 81, of Dennis, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Born to the late James P. and Sarah Ann (Manning) Huntley on September 3, 1935, at the Boston Lying In Hospital, Janet was a sweet, gentle soul who demonstrated kindness and compassion to all she met. Raised in Needham, MA Janet graduated from The Shepard-Gill School of Practical Nursing of the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1979. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center for many years.

Janet loved any activity involving her children or grandchildren, keeping an eye on the birds at her bird feeder, gardening, volunteering at the Hyannis Public Library and ANY activity involving her Irish heritage.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and sister Marjorie Quinn of Nashua, NH. She is remembered with love by her sons: Albert Tate and his wife Nancy Marriott of Yarmouth Port, Ma, Stephen Tate and his wife Sandy of San Diego, CA, Michael Tate and his wife Milly Lazo of Miami, FL, and Jeffery Tate of San Diego, CA and her daughter Judith Andrews and husband Tom of Allen, Texas; her sister Beverly Langley and her husband Roger of Greenville, SC; her much-loved grandchildren; Christopher, Jeremy, Andrew, Jonathan, Ashley, Emily, Kendall, Hadley, Roly and Emily; and her great-granddaughters, Brooke and Jocelyn.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Doane Beal & Ames funeral home 160 West Main Street, Hyannis. A Private graveside service will be held at St. joseph Cemetery, Lagrange Street, West Roxbury, MA at noon on Thursday, October 6, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Sight Loss Services, Inc of Cape Cod and Islands at sightloss.org
