Juliet Antoinette Carlson

Julie was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Robert Carlson. She is survived by her three daughters Susan McDonald (and the late Arthur) of Barrington RI, Pam Lucker ( and Lars) of Oakland, CA and Roberta Bakshi ( and Surjit) of Kailua, HI. She is also survived by four grandchildren Lynne Wexler, Julie Realejo, Brendan Lucker, and Kate Lucker, and by seven great grandchildren. She leaves dear friends from her homes in Marathon, FLA, and Hingham, MA as well as her past homes in Barnstable, MA, and Weston, MA.

Julie was born In Bridgewater Massachusetts and was the youngest of five girls. She and her twin Harriet Gordon Blanchard both graduated from Bridgewater State College and remained close throughout their lives until Harriet’s death in 2019. After graduating from Bridgewater State College, Julie went onto a short career in teaching before marrying the love of her life, Bob Carlson.

Julie had a passion for life that was expressed in the things she made. She was a member of the Bayberry Quilters Guild of Cape Cod for many years and her award winning quilts had been featured in many quilt shows. She was an accomplished Nantucket basket weaver, beaded jewelry maker, seamstress, and knitter. Julie had an inquisitive mind and loved learning new things throughout her life. She found great joy in dancing, swimming in the ocean, collecting treasures on the beach, gardening, and being with her family.

Julie was a strong woman right up to the end. She will be greatly missed.
