
Lawrence Elliott Barros, Jr., 32 of Centerville, MA, passed away Tuesday November 18, 2014 after a fatal car accident. Lawrence was born in Hyannis, MA on February 11, 1982 to Cathie (Barros) Silva and Lawrence Elliott Barros, Sr. Lawrence graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth High School in 2000 and went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Political Science. Lawrence married his sweetheart, Monica Fay Carey on July 30, 2006 in the presence of his beloved family and friends.
Lawrence was a devoted Christian who loved God. He enjoyed playing the trumpet in his church. He had a God given gift of forming a special bond with people, particularly children and directed the children’s ministries.
He was a loving husband and father. Each night Lawrence returned home from work, he would greet his wife, Monica, with a kiss and hug and often called her his “sweetpea.” If there was one thing Lawrence felt was important it was family. He was a remarkable son, brother, grandchild, friend and mentor that always extending himself for the benefit of others.
He is survived by his two sons, Isaac Charles and Elliott Nathanael Barros, his mother, father, brother Jason Barros, sisters Monica (Barros) Stout, and Christy Barros, maternal grandparents, Edward & Theresa Souza, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, extended family and co-workers.
Lawrence had an incredible gift of relating to people of all ages and backgrounds and took a genuine interest in reaching out to them. His style of communication opened doors and he touched many hearts.
In lieu of flowers and if desired, memorial donations may be made “For the Benefit of the Barros Children” and mailed to the Bank of Cape Cod, 1582 Route 132 Hyannis, MA 02601.
All are welcome to a memorial service to celebrate the life of Lawrence Barros at Victory Chapel on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at 320 Kidd’s Hill Road (off Independence Drive), Hyannis MA 02601.
