Peggy Nemec

Cape Cod native and daughter of Nathalie and Ansel Ryder. She grew up in Barnstable

Village and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1952. She was the wife of

Edward C. Nemec for 55 years. She was a homemaker as well as the bookkeeper for her

husband’s business. She enjoyed dancing, bird watching, gardening, and visiting with

friends and family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children

Donna Kahelin of Osterville, Jeffrey Nemec of Barnstable and John Nemec of Peabody,

as well as three grandchildren Rachael Kahelin, Sarah Nemec and Lindsay Nemec.

Visiting hours will be 11:30AM to 1:30PM followed by a funeral service on Thursday,

September 13, 2012 at Doane, Beale and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street

in Hyannis. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to

the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, to the

Barnstable Firefighters Association, Inc., P.O. Box 94, Barnstable, MA 02630 or to the

charity of one’s choice.
