She resided in West Yarmouth, MA with her husband Paul Deignan.
Regan was born in Mineola, NY, attended school in Syosset, NY and matriculated to many colleges in Boston, MA for her secondary and post-secondary education. She was a long-time elementary school teacher in Londonderry, N.H.
Regan was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Murphy as well as two sisters, Kathleen and Sharon. Regan is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Paul Deignan, her two devoted children and their spouses Shaylin (Jason) Lipman of Londonderry, NH, and Jake (Cyntia) Deignan of St Augustine, FL, her cherished grandchildren, Gabriella and Jaxon, in addition to her brother John J Murphy III of Palm Springs, CA and several beloved nieces and nephews including James Dixon and Michaela Morin and her many lifelong friends.
Regan's legacy is one filled with warmth and unselfishness, an uncompromising devotion to family and a loyalty to close friends. Her positions on women's issues and her unwavering support for social justice always made conversations with her engaging and enlightening. Her laugh was infectious and brought everyone into her. When you spoke with Regan there was never any confusion of thought. She just had a way about her.
A stalwart Irish woman, she reveled in historical markers and in gatherings that celebrated her heritage.
But it was her intense loyalty to her family that distinguished her above all else. Whether to her loving husband Paul or to her children, grandchildren, or extended family, Regan displayed her deep love and devotion. One always admired how she cherished her time with family. She set an example us all.
In social gatherings she was a spitfire. Always ready to raise the level of celebration and made sure that everyone was included. At the Cape, she loved Seagull Beach and would call for gatherings there as much as possible. She immersed herself in the calm and tranquil moments of the sand and sea.
Regan's life was a portrait of love, and her passing creates a deep void for all of us. We love her and will miss her terribly, but we carry her legacy on.
