

Margaret Ruth Wells, known to all as Ruth, passed quietly on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 7:15pm at Cape Regency in Centerville, MA at the age of 94. Ruth was born on February 12th, 1923 to the late Laura (Delorey) and Sifroi (Jeff) Belliveau in Antonio, TX. She was the widow of Charles (Chuck) Wells. Ruth and Chuck were married in 1946 and spent many happy years together before his passing. She was the sister of the late Robert E. Belliveau, the late James Norman Belliveau, and Mary E. Fillip, who currently resides in Renton, WA. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and long-time friends. Generations of family members and friends both on her and Chuck’s side of the family will miss her as “Aunt Ruth.”
Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston, MA. In addition to her career in the health field, she was passionate about piloting airplanes and traveling the world. As an avid traveler, she made numerous trips both overseas and within the continent during her lifetime, even in her later years. When she returned from her trips, she loved to share stories with all of her friends and loved ones.
Ruth lived a long and adventurous life. She loved the great outdoors, hiking, camping and fishing in Vermont. When she was not outdoors, she could be found indulged in a novel or a daily crossword puzzle. She stayed active both physically and mentally and was never one to quit easily. Ruth loved to eat, laugh, and spend time with her family and loved ones, and she always made sure that those she loved knew how much they meant to her. She loved all kinds of music, especially jazz, as her husband Chuck was a musician. She also enjoyed the Opera and possessed a great passion for the arts. Ruth was actively involved with the arts in Boston and was a member of many music organizations. Her love of music also prompted weekly visits to the Symphony in Boston until her early 90’s. Ruth was a long time resident of Belmont, MA. Ruth Wells lived a life full of love, adventure, and happiness. She had a smile and a laugh that was contagious and a personality so unique, it would be hard to find anyone else like her.
Ruth has chosen to be cremated and will be buried in the fall in Vermont next to her late husband Charles. A small memorial gathering will take place following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
