Shawn Colón Russell, 37, died suddenly at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA in the early morning hours of April 20, 2015.
Shawn was a loving father to all of his children. At the time of his death, Shawn was living with his partner, Carrie Forsythe in Webster, MA, and their two young sons, Cameren and Jordan. Prior to living in Webster, Shawn’s journey began with Katie McInnis and their children, Joshua and Matteah. He also spent many years with Nicole Braman, and their two children, Kianna and Deshawn. He is also survived by his mother, Connie Pinkney and her husband Louis, his father, Pablo Colón and other mother Mary Jane Garneau. His siblings include, Angela Young of Wareham, Krystle Colón of Dennis, Kristen Pinkney of Florida, Jacob Pinkney of S. Yarmouth, and Heather Cavanaugh of Foxboro. Shawn was loved by so many more special friends and family – too many to mention.
Shawn was born on March 12, 1978, in Hyannis, MA, where he lived until his early twenties, relocating to Tampa, Florida with family. While in Florida, Shawn worked installing fences, which he loved because he was able to be outdoors all day.
Shawn was an avid sports fan. It didn’t matter what sport it was, he enjoyed them all immensely. Even though he was from Massachusetts, his favorite team was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his early years when Shawn was in Barnstable High School, he played on the football team. He also played Lacrosse.
Shawn had a deep passion for music. If there wasn’t music playing, he was singing. He loved to sing and dance. He was always the life of the party. If you weren’t having a good time when you arrived, you were when you left.
We would like to invite all of Shawn’s loved ones to join us in remembering him. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631. For online condolences, please visit www.doanebealames.com.
