Steven Douglass

Steven Stewart Douglass, age 50 of Hyannis, passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Cape Cod Hospital.

Steven, known simply as Steve to friends and family, was born October 4, 1960, the son of Henry Douglass and Cora (Pharmakis) Douglass of Eastham. Steve grew up in Rehoboth, MA, attended Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School and Bristol County Agricultural School. As an adult he lived and worked for many years in southeastern Massachusetts, living in Attleboro and Taunton before moving to Cape Cod in 2005.

Steve, known for his quick wit and booming laugh, was an avid musician, gifted guitarist and nature lover. Steve taught guitar and occasionally played in local bands. In his youth he was an avid fisherman and studied advanced karate.

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his sister Diana (Douglass) Creed and nephew John Creed of Thompson, CT, and niece Jenna Creed of Ellington, CT, and friends and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16th at 3 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis.
