Thomas D. Jenkins Jr. (Tommy, Tom, T, Sweet Music) passed away Thursday June 3rd 2021. Tom is survived by his wife Christine Curnow Jenkins; his two children Harleigh and Hayden Jenkins; his mother Ruth McGillen Jenkins and two sisters Katie and Jill Jenkins . As well as his in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends that he considered family.

As a proud born and raised Cape Codder, Tommy loved all things Cape Cod; the beaches, the fishing, the rinks, the ball fields, and the fried food joints . He would turn every pond skate and bonfire into THE place to be! He loved spending his days on Sandy Neck whether it be in a camper or on a boat. It is rumored that he was the first to take a pontoon to the sandbar. But true to his nature it was because he wanted to get as many people out there with him as possible. When he did venture off Cape he loved camping, floating on the Kangamangus, visiting York Beach or skiing with his childhood friends and their families.

When it came to sports he spent countless hours coaching, reffing or just cheering everyone on. You could always find him at the games and tournaments. He truly enjoyed watching all the kids (following their college/professional careers as well). His favorite post game traditions were sharing a box of twinkies or a trip to the ice cream store.

Tom was famous for declaring every event “a tradition” but he was most proud to be considered one of the founders of the decades long “Thanksgiving Family Football” game in which he voted himself MVP every year.

He had an amazing gift for making friends. He never held back his love, ending most visits, calls and texts with a “Drive Safe”, “I Love You” or even better “LUM” ( Love You Man). If the measure of man’s success is his impact on others Tommy was world class. And if you are among the many that he called a friend, you can consider yourself blessed.

Of all the things Tommy loved (and there are many) he loved his children the most. He was proud of them and he let you know it. He felt lucky to be their father, but also their friend. One conversation with Tommy and you would know that being a Dad was by far his proudest achievement. One way or another the best times of his life were because of his children.

Tommy was truly larger than life and will be missed by all. His legacy will live on with every memory shared, story told, and 70s song played.

Do a little dance, make a little love , get down tonight!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite youth sports organization, or beach preservation organization.

Slim, you will be missed, rest in peace. Too many great memories to list. The world is less without you in it. Much love to the whole family during this difficult time. LUM, Scramby (Still never knew why you called me that, don't think you did either!)

I was saddened to learn of Tommy's passing. I saw him mainly at the rink, and kept his skates sharpened - when he'd let me. He truly was one of a kind and will be missed. My condolences to Christine and your entire family. God speed Tommy.

Dear Tommy,
So sad to see you go! So many childhood memories! Bog hockey, pond hockey, street hockey games and giving Mrs Rogers a hard time at the Old Village Store with Mikey and Chris.
Time rolled on and so did we. But have spoken so much about the childhood laughs we had with my son. You will always be Mr. Cape Cod.
I send my prayers to your mom , sisters and your wife and children.
I wish you God speed my brother and I will see you on the other side!

We haven’t stayed as close as I would have liked but when we did see you, you always warm and made us laugh.
From my mother’s handmade pjs, to hide & seek in the linen closet. From Thanksgiving meals (Where one fell in Jimmy’s lap) to watching grandma’s dentures fall out. There are many memories.
Tommy - You will be missed!

To Christine, Harleigh and Hayden - may you find comfort in your happy memories and peace within your hearts.

Share a memory of Tom Jenkins ? Wow, I have a few and even more of the Jenkins family over the years I lived on the cape. But I’ll never forget Tom & Christines wedding and during the exchanging of vows on this beautiful sunny day there was this very loud clap of thunder! Everything stopped for a few seconds then the entire church broke out in laughter ! “Gods Blessing “ : ). And of course the good times of cookouts and volley games and days at Sandyneck Beach, Angelo’s Resaurant, and many more , you were our first friends on cape cod and I’m not sure how we actual met, I guess at Angelos , Christine and Ruthie, my heart goes out to you . You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers since I first heard Tommy was hurt. I know Alison has stayed in touch over the years with social media, Tommy always told her if you’re out drinking alittle too much you call me , I don’t care what time it is don’t you dare drive , that meant a lot to her……and as you know , he will be missed by so many !🌺

Tommy J! Thank you for being the most amazing off season and summer league coach a person could ever have. Thank you for always being a good sport during the alumni games and throwing the puck our way. Thank you for the endless amounts of laughs and jokes on and off the ice. I will forever miss getting checked into the boards by you as a ref. Last but not least thank you for fixing my car every time I would back into my my dads truck and my brothers car. You are truly one of a kind and the true LEGEND of CAPE COD.

Christine, Hars, Hayden, Jill, Katie and Ruth you will forever be in my prayers and you will forever have the best angel out there looking over you.
