I was saddened to hear of Warren’s passing. Warren has always been part of my life through his close friendship (and cousinship!) with my dad, Ned, and a good source for Ned stories. I am sorry I couldn’t attend the funeral Mass in person, but I was able to watch the beautiful service online. Tricia’s eulogy was  particularly nice. I was invited by  Easter ham and dinner, Shiela, to share Easter 2005 dinner, with Shiela and her family.   I met Shiela's parents,  Warren snd Janet for the first timeShiela and I work at the same Publix  in Boca Raton,  Fl.  Not only is she my  co worker, but a very valued friend/honorary big sister.  I  have a BA in history. 

After an excellent Easter  dinner and dessert, Shiela asked Warren if he would recall his experiences , in Korea, as a soldier serving , in a field artillery battery, the U.S. Army's  3rd Infantry Division during the last few months before the ceasefire on July 27, 1953. I had brought amap of the Korean peninsula, and Warren  pointed out what part of the current  DMZ he served at.  He was very  positive about his experience and said, if I recall correctly, ," if you were with the 3rd[ division] you were with the best."
Whenever  he would come to visit, Shiela and her family, and was in the store, I would say "hi Sarge.   

Truly I feel  grateful  to have met you, Warren( Sarge), may we meet again at some heavenly baseball game.

Our family has so many fond memories of Warren and his family because our Dad and Warren were cousins and good friends their whole lives. We spent many hours together over the years. So much kindness and generosity shared, and so many laughs were had! We will all remember Warren always with the happy associations of a very good man.

My deepest sympathies to my second family and my second mom, Janet. I can’t imagine the last 30 years of my life without Warren, Janet and all of  your children and grandchildren being in it.  I met all of you down in Columbia, South Carolina and even though I’m a native Long Islander it took Warren‘s cajoling to get me to make my first trip to Cape Cod in 1997. My children and his grandchildren shared grand times together all over the Cape and here in Columbia. Our favorite spot was stopping for candy on Main Street after a day at the beach on the Cape.  And even after the kids were all grown up and it was just me up visiting, I wasn’t a visitor. I was a member of the family.  I loved staying in the Batcave. And going down and getting some fresh fruit and soup at the market just down the street.  Memories that will always be in my mind and in the mind of my children.  
I also send condolences from Warren’s brothers at the Ancient Order Hibernians here in Columbia. 
Well, done, good and faithful servant.
