

Alex was born on January 21st, 1993 , in Kansas City, Missouri, to Roberta Stokely and the late Salvatore Galate. Alex was a loving, kind, strong, loyal, grateful, intelligent, determined soul that will be remembered forever. Above all else, he was a fearless warrior.
Alex was very passionate about many things, and was able to attain many goals for himself. One goal that he was able to cross off his list was gaining his Master Mechanic certification. He had a knack for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. He was able to also attain the goal of working for himself when he established “Galate Auto Service”, his mobile mechanic business. In September of 2024 he was able to take a trip to Sicily, one that he had wanted to take since he was a little kid. He came home filled with gratitude and a sense of pride that he had the opportunity to explore our family origins. Alex was an avid gamer, and took the leap to get into streaming as well, where he would game with friends from all over the globe. Alex was also very passionate about his participation and spreading of love and support to the online cancer support community, specifically facing cancer as a young adult. Alex poured himself into others within the community, his love, support, kindness, and ability to make others laugh no matter the subject left a profound and long lasting impression on those within the community.
Alex is survived by his mother and step father Roberta and Steve Stokely of Lees Summit, MO, his brother Thomas Fitzgerald of Fresno, CA, His brother Chris Galate of Parkville, MO, his brother Mike of Lees Summit, MO, and his brother and sister-in-law Vince and Janean Galate of Chandler, AZ.
Alex was preceded in death by his father Salvatore Galate, April 15th, 2017.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Visitation at Newcomer’s Chapel on Noland Road located at 509 South Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050 on Monday March 2nd, 2026 from 1pm-3pm, with a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life to follow. Donations in Alex’s honor to the following organizations are appreciated, “Head for the Cure” wwww.headforthecure.org, and “The National Brain Tumor Society” www.braintumor.org. Alex’s family would like to send a special thank you to the Stupid Cancer Adolescent and Young Adult community for welcoming Alex with open arms giving him an open space where he could discuss all of the aspects of his battle with cancer with others. Your all’s love and support were instrumental in him maintaining his fight all the way to the end.
