

Carl Franklin Scott, 69, of Independence, MO, passed away at Saint Lukes East Hospital on May 14, 2026.
Carl was born March 27, 1957 to Robert L Scott Sr and Helen J (Garrick) Scott. He was the first born of 4 children. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1976 before going to work at Texas Toms.
Carl married his loving wife, Rhonda (Gates) on July 11, 1981. They built a beautiful life, raising 2 daughters and enjoying 44 years of marriage.
Carl started working at Deluxe Check Printers in 1978 as a press man. He retired from Deluxe in 2011 after 33 years. Carl had a passion for firefighting. He served as a volunteer firefighter with Sugar Creek Fire Department for 20 years. He also enjoyed helping out with the William Chrisman High School band. He hauled the band equipment down to the field and drove the equipment truck to competitions for 20 years.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Scott, Step-father Edward Renfro, and Sister-in-law Brenda Scott.
Carl is survived by his wife, Rhonda Scott of the home. Daughter, Melody Scott of Independence, MO. Daughter, Jennifer Jacobs and spouse Christopher of Marshall, MO. Brother William Scott of Independence, MO. Sister Joyce Slayton and spouse Terry of Sugar Creek, MO. Brother Robert Scott Jr of Independence, MO. Step-brother Marty Renfro and spouse Debbie, Step-sister Kathe Handly and spouse Bill, Step-brother Tommy Renfro and spouse Shelly, Step-brother Tony Renfro and spouse Sherry, and Step-brother Mike Renfro and spouse Angie. 4 grandchildren, Carter Jacobs, Keegan Scott, Harmony Scott, and Cobe Jacobs. And many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
