David Leath Holder

He was born December 11, 1931 in Springfield, Mo, to Arthur Leath and Esther Mary(Goldsworthy) Holder. He raised in Independence, graduating from Wm. Chrisman High School in 1949.

David married Anita Joy Petersen, May 20, 1950 in Independence. From this union 3 children were born. They made their home in Independence and raised their family.

He served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Weather Observer in the Navy. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1955.

He retired in 1994 from KCP & L after 44 years of service as an electronic technician.

During retirement he traveled and spent time with his grandchildren.

David was a member of the East Independence Community of Christ Church for 58 years, and served as an Elder.

Preceded in death by 4 sisters.

He is survived by wife, Anita of the home. Sons; Jerry (Jana) Holder, Ryan (Kim) Holder. Daughter; Tyra (Randy) Hamann. Grandchildren; Tyler (Molly) Hamann, Taylor (Amanda) Holder, Caylee (Joseph) Johnson, Bradley Holder, Chelsea (Tyler) Ramirez, Lindsey Holder, Hana Holder. Gr Grandchildren; Hennley Holder and Warner G Hamann.

Visitation Jan 25, 2017 10am, Funeral Service 11am, all services at Newcomers Noland Road Chapel. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
