It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Devin Haber, who departed this world on July 23, 2023. Devin's journey came to a close far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son Dominic, his parents Lewis and Valerie, his siblings, David, Bridget and Darren and his cherished nieces, nephew and cousins.
Devin was born on September 30, 1968, in Miami, Florida. He and his family moved out west in 1981 and he graduated from Overland High School as a standout baseball player. He later moved to Independence, MO where he settled into the next stage of his life. He married and had a son, Dominic Haber, and started his career with the US Postal Service.
He was a bright and compassionate soul who brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Throughout his life, he exuded a warmth that made him a true friend to all. His infectious smile could light up any room and his genuine concern for others earned him countless lifelong connections.
Devin had an insatiable appetite for adventure and sports. Whether it was his passion for the University of Miami Hurricanes, fantasy football, his annual golf trip to Mesquite, or the countless adventures and memories he created with his son Dominic, Devin's zest for life was contagious. He lived life to the fullest, seizing every opportunity to create unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Devin's absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of his loving family. He was a devoted father and son, a caring sibling, and a cherished friend. Those who were closest to him will forever treasure the moments shared and find comfort in the knowledge that his love will endure through the bonds they forged.
Though Devin's time with us was tragically brief, his impact on those around him was immeasurable. We are left to mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, whose spirit and compassion touched the lives of many. As we bid farewell to Devin, we find strength in the memories we hold dear and the lessons he imparted during his all-too-brief sojourn on this earth.
A memorial service to celebrate Devin's life will be held on a future date with all of his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Devin's honor to a charity close to your heart, as he was always passionate about giving back to those in need.
Devin, your light may have dimmed, but the impact of your presence will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
May you rest in eternal peace, and may your soul find tranquility in the embrace of God.
