Donald Jefferson Dewey

Donald Jefferson Dewey, age 79, of Independence MO, passed away on May 31st in his home while surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Feb. 12, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to Howard and Margaret (Jefferson) Dewey. Donald graduated from Northeast High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. He loved cooking for and entertaining friends and family. Donald's love of cooking carried over to his career working for Gilbert-Robinson, Inc. and the Marriott Corp. He also enjoyed quality time with many beloved pets.

He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret, father Howard, stepmother Ruby, and eldest brother Henry.

Survivors include his brother Keith (Margie) Dewey of Platte City, MO; brother Kenneth (Delane) Dewey of Kaneohe, HI; nephew Dr. Steven (Susan) Dewey of Colorado Springs, CO; niece Jana (Ron) Seeley of Bella Vista, AR; nephew Dean (Kelly) Dewey of Edmond, OK; niece Dana (Bill) Basch of Kansas City, MO; and niece Lisa Dewey of Independence, MO. Also survived by many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 2-3pm, followed by funeral services at 3pm, Wednesday, June 8, at the Newcomer Noland Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
