

Herman K. Drechsler, age 100, of Independence, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia, MO. Herman was born in Kansas City , Mo, October 15, 1915 to Kurt and Elsa(Stein) Drechsler. He was raised and educated in Kansas City. He married Bernadine Barker, she passed away in September of 1995. He worked as a machinist engineer for several aircraft companies such as TWA, Black & Veatch in the Kansas City area. He retired in 1978. He and Bernadine traveled the world during their retirement including trips to Australia, Europe, South America and Mexico. He loved bowling, fishing, gardening, going to estate and garage sales. He was very involved with the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Kansas City. His father founded the church and Herman served as a deacon, maintenance man and member of the church for many years. Preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine, son Michael Kurt. He is survived by nephew Bob and Judy Lunceford. Sister in law Imogene Brooks. Many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Kansas City, 711 Benton Blvd. Kansas City, Mo. 64124 Graveside services, 1:00pm, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Mt.es Washington Cemetery. Newcomers Noland Road Chapel in charge of arrangements.
