Imogene was born in Verona, Mo. July 4th, 1931 to Bill and Velma (Swadley) Sims. She grew up in Purdy, MO. She did many odd jobs as a teen and young adult. From cleaning houses, farming and waitressing.
She was Married to Burley Coin on May 8th, 1954. They moved to Independence, MO to raise their children.
She raised 5 kids and worked at a Lloyds Laundry on the Independence square. She also worked for Pryer Brass. Her first priority was to take care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Having come from a small town she loved country music, roosters, and gardening. There was a special love in her heart for peonies, roses and butterflies.
Imogene is preceded in death by her husband, Burley; sons, Tony and Burley Jr.; daughter, Barbara, and great-granddaughter, Haylee Preator.
She is survived by sister, Treva Bruce; daughter, Deborah Coin; son, Danny (Angie) Coin; granddaughters, Brandy (Danny) Preator, Amber (Freddy) Capielo, Brittany Luedeman, Georgia (Mike) Schutz, Crystal (Jesse) Rice, Adrianna Osuna (Peyton Heim); great-grandchildren, Brad and Cody Preator, Avalynah and Izabellah Capielo, Mya Luedeman, Gabriella and Drew Schutz, Brayden and Jackson Rice.
Services for Imogene will be held at the Newcomers Noland Road Chapel on Saturday, July 26th with visitation starting at 11am and service beginning at 12pm. Committal Service to take place after the service in Woodlawn Cemetery.
