

Jimmie Colbert was born on February 11,1941 to the Union of his parents, Mr. Nathan Colbert and Mrs. Sarah Blackmon-Colbert, who proceeds him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Jerry Blackman and Nathan Colbert Jr. Uncle Jimmie was baptized at an early age.
Jimmie was a well-educated man graduating from Charles Sumner High School in 1961. Where he graduated from Lincoln University graduating with a BS degree in elementary education and a Minor degree in PhD and Music, between 1963-1967. In 2002-2004 he attended Heart of America College and Seminary in Kansas City Missouri graduating with an MS and a Th.D in Christian education.
A teacher for over 35 years while living in either St. Louis, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri or in California. Served as an Elder for many years in the 7-Day Adventist Church. He also served as a choir director and pianist in serval churches. Served as a Prison ministry at Vacaville Prison in California for over 3 years. A writer and producer of many Musical presentations for the church. Ability to play piano and organ and also violin, trumpet, clarinet and flute and also a harmonica. He worked as program director for camp Rivercliff in Bourbon, Missouri for 14 Summers and as a program director for the page Park YMCA in St Louis, Missouri also as a St Louis Park and City director over Sports and Fairground Park for several years.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters Shirley Jones and Dorothy Hoyle and brother-in-law Joseph Hoyle and brother Jackie Colbert and sister-in-law Debra Colbert. His Dear Friend, Ms. Colene Jackson and Woodrow Stubbs. And a host of Nieces and Nephews and friends.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, Missouri 64050. With a graveside service starting at 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 701 S Noland Rd, Independence, Missouri 64050.
