

She was born on May 8, 1921, in Waverly Kansas, Ruby lived a vibrant and full life marked by her spirited personality and diverse interests. Ruby married Clarence in June 1942, and they had 2 sons and spent most of their lives in Independence, Missouri.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence Lee Henderson Sr., her son Clarence Lee Henderson Jr., her parents Harvey and Mary Stone, her siblings Clarence (Helen), Edward, Ralph (Peggy), and June (Bud) and her close family member Steven Jones.
She leaves behind a loving family including her son Jerry and his wife Joan; grandsons Brian (Lisa), Jesse (Helena), and JJ (Will); granddaughters Kim and Christina (Mario) Giulianelli; great-grandchildren Dominick and Desiree; and close family members Cindy, Jessica, Jake, and Carter Jones.
Ruby's life was one of creativity and passion. After retiring from her role with National Bella’s Hess catalog she traveled extensively with her husband looking for gems to craft into beautiful spheres and jewelry. A true community person, Ruby was active in several clubs including the Gem and Mineral Club, 76th fire company club, Red Hats Club, Ham radio club and a local bingo and card group. Known for her genuine heart and firm resolve, Ruby was beautifully stubborn and continued to engage in gardening, yard work and snow shoveling well into her 90s. Her love for light houses, owls, birds, Cracker Barrel and attending parties was renowned among her friends and family.
Ruby will be remembered for her determination, kindness, and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Ruby will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, Missouri 64050, with a funeral starting at 1:30 PM. A committal service to follow at Mt Washington Cemetery (Truman Rd Gate), 614 S Brookside Ave, Independence, Missouri 64053.
