Shawn N Franke

Shawn N Franke, age 37, of Independence, Missouri walked into Jesus’ outstretched arms on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Shawn cherished the love of his life Julie and their brilliant son Kaiden. Shawn loved spending time with family- especially at any holiday. Shawn’s best qualities were his empathy and loyalty to his family, friends, and his country. No matter what, you knew he was always in your corner. Shawn and Julie dreamed big dreams as they made their home in Independence. Shawn enjoyed collecting sports cards and playing video games with Kaiden, spending time with their dogs Hurley, Daisy, and Max, and attending Royals and Mavericks games. Shawn was an avid Chiefs’ fan and enjoyed celebrating with fireworks after each playoff and Super Bowl win.

Shawn graduated from Fort Osage High School in 2005. He joined the Army soon after graduation and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Shawn had also worked at local companies: Cargo Largo, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, The Waldinger Corporation.

Shawn is survived by his wife Julie of 15 years; son Kaiden, parents Chet and Linda Franke, brother Chet A Franke (Andrea), brother Kyle Franke (Susie), sister Amber Bender (Chris), nephews, nieces, family in law. Shawn is preceded into heaven by their unborn second baby. We know he is holding their hand, and we look forward to joining them again.

The best ways to celebrate Shawn’s memory is to be kind, give that special gift, and love your family. We will miss his tender heart every day.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31,2023 9:30AM-10:30AM with Memorial Service immediately following 10:30AM-11:30AM. Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel, 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050.
