Shirley Louise Logan

Shirley L. Logan Shirley L. Logan, 90, of Independence, MO passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center. A private burial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, at Floral Hills Cemetery at 2:30. Shirley was born on June 11, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri to Albert J. and Mary L. West. She graduated from East High School in June, 1943, where she met her future husband, Carl S. Logan. Shirley and Carl were married on November 25, 1945. Shirley and Carl lived in Kansas City for many years and moved to Independence when their children, Ron and Carla, were young. She was a homemaker and loved to fish. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, making jewelry, and won several awards for her ceramic pieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, sister Eleanor DeHart, and brother Jack West. Surviving Shirley are her son Ron and his wife Barbara; their son Shawn and his daughter, Sophia; and their daughter Christi Hammel and her husband Brian, and their children Jonah and Shelbi. Also surviving Shirley are her daughter Carla Buffington and her husband David and their daughter Beth and her Godson Raymond. Shirley’s extended grandchildren are Cheri Ingram and her husband Kevin, Brad Buffington (deceased), Mary Raynor and her husband Matt, Brent Buffington, and great- grandchildren Carrie, Cassie, Savannah, Emery, Olivia, Molly, Jason, Michael, Hannah and Monserrat. Her beloved dog Norman also survives Shirley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Groves Community Hospice.
