Tommy Eugene Willis

Tommy Eugene Willis, age 51, of Sugar Creek, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022. Tommy was born September 19, 1970 in Independence, Missouri to Dixie and Vernon Willis. Tommy grew up in Independence being active in Boy Scouts and Choir. He graduated from Truman High School in 1989.

After high school, he spent a year in Utah attending Job Corp. Tommy had several jobs in security and warehouses before settling as a Department Manager at Wal-Mart. In 2012 after a heart attack, Tommy went into End Stage Renal Failure. He liked to joke that he wanted to be the first person with bionic kidneys.

Tommy met his wife, Mary in 2012 and they were married in September 2016. Tommy loved gaming. He was an active WOW player and Larper, through which he made many friends. Tom was also a Mason and Shriner. He loved movies, Metallica and all things Star Wars.

Tommy leaves behind his loving wife, Mary and their four fur babies; his brothers Ace Wheeler, Gary Wheeler, and Michael Wheeler; along with nieces, nephews and many friends who love him. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Dixie (Liddle) and Vernon and his sister, Kandy Wheeler.

A service will be held for Tommy on February 1st from 5pm to 7pm at Newcomer's Noland Rd Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050.
