

Wanda Louis Royle was a loving mother, devoted wife and adoring grandma and great-grandma who was called to Heaven by our Lord on Friday, 20th day of February, 2026 after 88 blessed years on this earth. She was born in Polo, Missouri to Pearl Elizabeth Ray and Albert Jackson Ray. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1955 and started her calling in the banking field right after graduation.Wanda married her first husband, Anthony Calfas, in 1956 and had three children: Steven, Cynthia and David Calfas. She was married again in 1980 to John Royle and was blessed with four step-children: Mike, Doug, Leisa and Lori Royle.
Wanda continued working in the banking industry throughout her adult life, retiring in 1997 after 42 years of helping people find answers to their financial challenges, and teaching others how to manage their finances. She held a position on the Kansas City Bankers Association board for some time and also spent time as a part of Young Matrons of Independence and the Red Hat Club.
Wanda’s lifelong love was spending time with her family and friends, whether going to a fun show in Branson, traveling, enjoying a family reunion or preparing for one of the numerous holiday get-togethers she hosted over the years. Wanda was a self-taught cook and loved making the holidays extra special by preparing dishes everyone loved and looked forward to every year. She loved the color blue, the beauty of lilies, and singing along to Elvis and Tom Jones, or laughing along with actresses Doris Day and Carol Burnett. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her, and a constant source of kindness, gentleness, calmness and love. She will be missed dearly by her family and countless friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Pearl (Lance) Ray, Aunt Mary and Uncle Solen Fitzwater, her husband, John Royle, and half-brother Billy Goldesberry.
She leaves behind her sister, Mary Rosetta Ray Manley of Omaha, Nebraska; half-siblings Jonny and Debbie Goldesberry; children Steven Calfas (Janice) of Independence, Missouri, Cynthia Calfas of Kansas City, Missouri, and David Calfas of Independence, Missouri; stepchildren Mike Royle (Gwen) of Parkville, Missouri, Doug Royle (Judy) of Overland Park, Kansas, Leisa Crick (Tom) of Independence, Missouri and Lori Whitten (Mike) of Gravois Mills, Missouri; grandchildren Ryan Evans (Lindsay), Matthew Calfas, Bradley Calfas (Amanda), Jonathan Calfas (Whitney), Jacob Calfas (Taylor), Eli Booyer, Brandon Royle (Jennifer), Brooke Begley (Jim), Michelle Butler (Patrick), Zack Royle (Caroline), Adele McCartney (Blake), Jacob and Dylan Crick; and great-grandchildren Gavin & Bennett Evans, Parker & Emmett Calfas, Hazel, Huxley and Taron Calfas, Holden Calfas, Jamie and Madison Begkey, Wyatt, Peter and Lucy Royle and Marianne Butler.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, 6th day of March from 10-11 am followed immediately by a memorial service at 11 am., both at Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel, 509 South Noland Road, Independence, Missouri
