He was born on May 23, 1940, to James (Jim) and Sarah (Annie) Betteridge.
He was predeceased by his son Brian Betteridge and all his sisters and brothers: Lorraine Innes, Jimmy Betteridge, Jackie Betteridge, Dorothy Innes, Kenny Betteridge, Clifford Betteridge and Dave Betteridge.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years Donna; son Bruce (Robyn) Betteridge; daughter-in-law Bonnie Betteridge; grandchildren Melinda (Trevor) Sanderson and great-grandson Wyatt; Chantell (Kaylon) Weisbrod and great-grandchildren Enver and Emmy; Jessica (Donovan) Wrobel; Adam (Morgan) Betteridge and great-grandson Walker and Graham (Brittany) Betteridge. He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Ruth Betteridge, Betty Betteridge and Sharon Harvey and many nieces and nephews.
Harvey was a true ‘people person’. Visiting with others was something he enjoyed immensely. He was also a hard worker and was often lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. After he retired, he kept busy in their yard with its abundance of flowers, looking after the neighboring Kiddie Park and shoveling snow and minor maintenance tasks around their apartment building.
Harvey also had a special place in his heart for animals and was known to keep a supply of dog treats in the house, the car and his shirt pockets in case he may encounter a furry friend.
Most importantly, Harvey’s love for his wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids was evident each and every day. They were all very special to him, they and he enjoyed every minute they spent together whether it was visiting, working on a project together or playing with the great-grandbabies.
There will be a private family graveside ceremony and gathering at a later date.
If you would like to honor Harvey’s memory, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 would be appreciated.
