She became and worked as a care aide and worked for over 30 years and then took the position of Rec/Adult Day Care at Echo Lodge Care Home in Fort Qu’Appelle until retiring in May 2021. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, visiting and her family times were cherished most. Vern and Rene hosted many events at the Rusty Wire Stables that she always had a hand in with a smile, food and visiting. They travelled many miles watching rodeos, friend and family visits. They travelled to Las Vegas, Arizona, Mexico, North and South Dakota, Graceland, Grand Old Opry and Kimberley, BC. Her birthday club was a monthly event she loved to be at. She enjoyed her outings to the Casinos, the Casinos shows and most recently attending Country Thunder, her highlight Tanya Tucker. Rene sewed many quilts, a keepsake that many have. She always looked her best and her hair was always in its place. She was a great host, always food, drink or whatever she could get for you with a smile.
