We are sad to-day to learn of the passing of my childhood neighbor and classmate, Nellie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you move forward without her.

Not only was the coffee always on, a full hot farm meal was only moments away. Nell and Bill and their incredible children were always the first neighbors to help countless others. They shared their knowledge and mentored many,  young and old alike. My husband at the time, Lee worked for them and I spent many hours getting everything from advice on my very young pregnancy to cooking for a farm family, all given freely with love and patience. Nell played a large part in helping to shape me as a farm wife, and I thank her. On behalf of the Storry family we send our condolences and prayers to all her family and friends. RIP beautiful lady.

Like my brothers, Dave and Elmar, and my sister Leola, I too have very fond memories of Nellie.  I still have a vision of her coming to our house when I was about 7or 8 years old.  She had the most beautiful green shiny dress on, and had such lovely hair, and I wanted to grow up to be just like her.  I bought my one and only horse from Nellie and Bill years later, and they made me so welcome in their home.  Those memories of her will stay fondly with me.  I send all her friends and family my sincere condolences

Uncle Bill and family, we are so sorry for your loss.  Aunt Nell was a wonderful lady.  We have wonderful memories of our time at your farm or when you guys would come visit at Grandpa and Grandma's farm.  Aunt Nell had an infectious laugh and always had a smile on her face.  Mom and I are so sorry we cannot be there with you all tomorrow but know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. All of your memories will be your forever comfort. Love and hugs to you all.

Aunt Nell will be missed. Our thoughts are with those left behind. One of my favorite memories is seeing the new foals in the spring behind the barn and in the pasture.  She already knew what they were going to name the foal.

My thoughts are with Nellie's family and this difficult time.  Cousin Nellie was fifteen years older than me.  But I too have fond memories of her.  The first is as a very young boy in north Regina.  I was about five or six, and Nellie came to visit.  I had never seen a woman so beautiful, and I thought for a while that I was in love with her, as only a six year old can do.  And I too remember going out to Qu'Appelle with my brother Elmar to go hunting with Bill.  Nellie was always ready to put make sandwiches for us while we were out, along with thermoses of coffee or tea.  Then after a hunt, usually successful with Bill, we would head back and enjoy a fine meal with Nellie and Bill.  I did not see them in the last few decades, as cousins often drift apart.  But from the write-up it is clear that she lived a full life, with plenty of children and grandchildren to fulfill it completely.  David Goldsmith, near Radium Hot Springs, BC.

So sorry to hear about your loss.  When I was little I always thought my cousin Nellie was awesome fun.  I loved the rare visits to the farm.  I remember with fondness playing with Linda as a kid.  Everyone thought Linda and I looked  looked alike.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day...unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."

So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. It is difficult to prepare for a loss but may fond memories bring comfort to you and your family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

I'm so sorry to hear about Nell.  My brother Dan Demyen called me this morning.  Nell was an amazing woman and will always be in my thoughts knowing she will still be here watching over us all.

I have the most wonderful memories of my cousin Nellie. But I had no idea she had the same middle name as my mother (her aunt) Adella Goldsmith (nee Cooper).  When Nellie was just a young girl living in Regina my mother took me to visit her in her apartment. I got to have a bath in a real bathtub with running hot water.  I was just a young kid - 11 years younger than Nellie - living in north-end Regina, and we did not have such luxuries. Nellie and that bath have stayed in mind to this day.  I also have fond memories of visiting Nellie and Bill on the farm before the Apaloosas.  I would go there to hunt deer and I was always made very welcome in their loving home. There was always a pot of stew or some other delicious meal ready for visitors.  My thoughts are with all of Nellie's family. She was an amazing person who lived an amazing life.  The world is truly a better place because Nellie was in it.

So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers to you all. Nell was a wonderful lady and a wealth of knowledge when it came to horses and bloodlines. Her and Bill have created a great legacy of QAR horses. Hugs to you all
