

Albert was born to Cornelius Sr. and Nellie (Herron) Fields. He attended school at Indianapolis Public Schools (42 and 87) and Crispus Attucks High School.
“Big Al” was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was drafted at the age of 18 to serve in World War II. Albert was deployed in Morocco, North Africa and Rome, Italy. He was also chosen to be a part of the 522nd Port Battalion Calvary unit where he was a Buffalo Solider. Albert enjoyed working as a rifleman and supply clerk in service to his country. Upon Discharge, Albert was given the following: A Good Conduct Medal, a Victory Medal and the European African American Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars.
Albert married Barbara (Bradford) on February 13th, 1958. He was employed at Chrysler where he retired in 1988. Albert enjoyed playing and watching baseball games, watching his favorite television shows and visiting his family and friends.
Brother Fields accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church where he enjoyed barbequing and cooking for the congregation. He was a member of the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Mens Chorus and United Methodist Men group.
On Sunday July 12th, 2020, Albert went to sleep at 10:25am. He departed this earthly life at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 4 days. Albert was preceded in death by his parents: Cornelius Sr. and Nellie; his siblings: Zettia, Frances and Cornelius (Pig) Jr., and his sons: Leroy and Larry.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Barbara, his brother: Robert, his children: Marshall Sr., Kathy and Stacy (Ladonna), Grandchildren: Marshall Jr, Stacia, Star, Aja LeNe, Lauren, Aaliyah, and Chase, 9 Great Grand Children and a host of nieces and nephews family and friends.
