

Aletha received her education in the Indianapolis Public School System. Aletha was and has always been an independent woman and began working at a young age and learned a wide variety of skills. After 23 years of service Aletha retired from St. Francis hospital in the early 90's.
Mother Aletha was the definition of a Virtuous woman, loved to serve, loved to give, cook , host, and always put the Aletha Mae touch on everything. If you knew her you know that she wasn't a woman of many words but her actions spoke for her; and even if you didn't hear her you seen her coming because she had a glow and was always dressed to impress. She loved to shop and travel but spending time with her family is what brought her the most joy.
First Lady Aletha wore many hats but was a proud first lady and member of Solid Rock C.O.G.I.C where she helped build a beautiful facility for worship. She enjoyed working with the children and working in the community around her.
Aletha Mae Darty departed this life on April 18, 2020 at the age of 84. She was preceded in eternal life by her parents and her four siblings; Leo Moore Jr., Fredrick Moore, Shirley (Robert) McIntyre and Rosetta (DeWayne) Maxey.
First Lady Aletha leaves to cherish her memories with her beloved husband Superintendent James Darty; two daughters Katrina(Ricky) Gaddis and Cassandra (Eardis) Darty, four grandchildren; Jay Darty, Ray (Violet) Gaddis, Jessica Pitts and Joshua (Kiara) Pitts and 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
