

Amy Marie (Griffin) Giesler, 51, passed away July 22, 2025. Amy was born on December 2, 1973 in Indianapolis to the late John and Jean (Jones) Griffin. Amy graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1992. After high school, she began her college career at Indiana State University where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Amy graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor’s degree. Amy married Bart Giesler on September 21, 1996.
Amy loved a wide range of things including her students at New Palestine Elementary, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, entertaining, keeping herself and others fit by teaching and practicing yoga, making others laugh and being active. She was a volunteer with many organizations and participated in several organized walks and mini marathons. Amy loved to compete at everything and was very proud of her Eastside roots. Amy loved the flowers Bart grew in their yard, but most of all, Amy loved spending time with her sons who brought her so much joy. She was a blessing to all who crossed her path, always putting others first. Amy appreciated everyone who helped her throughout her life’s journey and will be remembered for her big heart and being everyone’s friend.
Amy is survived by her loving husband, Bart Giesler; children, Henry Giesler and Charlie Giesler; siblings, Theresa (Steve) Jasper, Patrick (Kris) Griffin and Jennifer (Nick) Martinelle; mother-in-law June Giesler; Bart's siblings, Kim (Jim) Purucker, Pam Bell, Tammy (Chad) Hurm, Andy (Amy) Giesler; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Amy was preceded in passing by her parents John and Jean Griffin and father-in-law Urban Giesler.
A visitation for Amy will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, 3519 S 600 W, New Palestine, IN 46163. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the church, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Amy will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
